Bitcoin Tuesday is the biggest single day of charitable giving crypto and it is right around the corner on November 30, 2021. Organizations such as Save the Children, No Kid Hungry and the American Cancer Society are some of the charities that have participated in this crypto fundraising event in the past. This year has seen major growth in cryptocurrency adoption and with many market participants being able to profit, Bitcoin Tuesday allows them the opportunity to give back.

The Giving Block is one of the foremost crypto donation companies serving over 100 nonprofits and charities. The Giving Block accepts Bitcoin and at least 50 other digital assets making it easy for cryptocurrency users to make a tax-deductible contribution to a worthy cause. This year Urban Ed Academy has partnered with the Giving Block to begin receiving donations in crypto.

Urban Ed Academy is an award-winning Bay Area based nonprofit working to ensure every student in San Francisco has one Black male teacher before sixth grade. This mission is greatly increasing equity in education by fostering Black male teacher representation in San Francisco. This investment has shown considerable benefits to the community by reducing the dropout rate and boosting interest in attending college.

Urban Ed Academy’s flagship fellowship program, Man the Bay, addresses systemic barriers to recruit and retain Black male teachers. Urban Ed Academy has forecasted that each Man the Bay Teaching Fellow returns at least $250,000 in community benefits every year when accounting for public sector savings, homeowner income, school district savings, and greater consumption.
